Library of the Graduate Program in Geography
The Maurício de Almeida Abreu Library of the Graduate Program in Geography of UFRJ has, in its collection, about 25,000 books, receiving 98 different newspapers, national and foreign, by subscription or exchange. The collection includes, in addition to Geography itself, numerous titles in the areas of Philosophy and various Social and Natural Sciences, monographs, dissertations, thesis, and maps. The library is considered one of the best in the country in this field, due to the quality of its collection and its constant updating.

CCMN Library
The CCMN Library contains several titles, mainly collections of international journals relevant to the different areas of Geography, as well as a map room and study and reading rooms.

Teaching Laboratories
The Department of Geography also has 02 (two) sedimentological and pedological analysis laboratories – the Physical Geography Laboratory and the Pedology Laboratory – and 01 (one) Physical Geography teaching laboratory, all used in practical classes of various compulsory and optional subjects in the area. They have equipment and glassware used in physical and chemical analysis of sediments and soils, and their dependencies and materials are maintained by the research groups of the department and used by the faculty and students linked to these groups.

Computer and Multi-media resources
In addition to the didactic activities developed in the classroom, the Department has 02 (two) public computer laboratories of the Institute of Geosciences and its own rooms equipped for the use of different media – video, etc. The curricular activities proposed in the different disciplines and additional curriculum requirements (ACR) intend to benefit from these resources for the training of future professionals in the use of information and communication technologies.
