CNPq Research Productivity Scholarship – Level 1C. She holds a BA in Anthropology and Economics – Florida State University (1972), a MA in Cultural Anthropology – New School for Social Research (1974) and a Ph.D. in Social Anthropology – University of Oxford (1983). She held postdocs at the University of London (1983-85) and the University of Texas-Austin (2000-01). Retired full professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, volunteer collaborating professor at PPGG-UFRJ and 1C productivity researcher at CNPq. He has experience in Regional Geography and Cultural Anthropology, working mainly on the following topics: environmental ethics and perception, critical political ecology, social inclusion / exclusion, community development and cultural theory. He has more than 40 years of experience in research carried out in the Northeast, Southeast, Midwest and Amazon.
