Bachelor’s degree in Geography from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1973), degree in Geography from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1974), Master’s degree in Geography from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1980) and PhD in Geography / Ph D in Geography from the University of London, UK. (1985). She held a Post-Doctorate at the University of Texas at Austin, USA (2000/2001) with a CAPES scholarship.
Full Professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, retired, she works as a volunteer collaborating professor in the Graduate Program in Geography, Institute of Geosciences, UFRJ. CNPq Productivity Scholarship. He has experience in the area of Geography, with emphasis on Agrarian Geography, Human Geography and Regional Geography, working mainly on sustainable rural development, agrarian and rural geography, rural-urban interactions, metropolitan agriculture, agricultural production systems and family farming, systems alternative agrifood products, with the regions of greatest interest being the Northeast, the Amazon, the Southeast and the Midwest.
